How to set up multiple pickup locations in WooCommerce

You added local pickup, and it worked fine when you had one shop. Then you opened a second location, added a warehouse, and now every pickup order arrives with no indication of where the customer actually plans to collect it. Your team calls the customer to ask. Every time.

WooCommerce’s built-in pickup was never designed to know you have more than one address.

Local Pickup PRO, our WooCommerce local pickup plugin, lets you create unlimited pickup locations, each with its own address, opening hours, and pickup fee, and shows customers a real choice at checkout instead of a single generic “Local pickup” line. The location the customer picks travels with the order, into the admin order screen, into emails, into your fulfilment workflow.

This guide walks you through setting up multiple pickup locations, from creating the first one to letting customers schedule a collection slot.

How to set up multiple pickup locations

1. Enable the local pickup shipping method
Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping and add Local Pickup PRO as a shipping method inside the shipping zones where pickup should be available. Restricting it by zone means customers 400km away do not see a pickup option they cannot use.

2. Create your pickup locations
Head to WooCommerce → Local Pickup → Pickup Locations and add each site individually. Give every location a clear customer-facing name: “Surat Warehouse” is more useful at checkout than “Location 2”.

3. Add address and map details for each location
Enter the full street address for each pickup point. This feeds the address shown at checkout, in order confirmation emails, and on the customer’s account page, so it needs to be the address you actually want people driving to.

4. Set opening hours per location
Each location gets its own weekly schedule, including closed days. A store that opens 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and closes Sundays should not offer a Sunday collection slot.

5. Add a pickup fee or discount
You can attach a cost to individual locations, or offer pickup free while charging for delivery. Some stores discount pickup orders to shift volume away from courier costs, and that is set per location, not globally.

6. Enable pickup date and time scheduling
Turn on scheduling so customers choose a collection date and time slot when they check out. Set slot length, lead time, and maximum orders per slot so a single afternoon does not get 40 collections booked into it.

7. Restrict locations by product or category
If a product only exists at one site, limit its pickup availability to that location. This stops a customer booking collection of a bulky item at a store that has never stocked it.

8. Add pickup details to your order emails
The chosen location, address, and time slot get inserted into WooCommerce order emails automatically. Customers stop emailing you to ask where they are going and when.

Frequently asked questions about multiple pickup locations

Can WooCommerce handle more than one pickup location?
Core WooCommerce added basic multi-location pickup, but without per-location hours, fees, scheduling, or the controls a real multi-site operation needs. For unlimited locations each with their own address, opening hours, pickup fee, time-slot scheduling, and product restrictions, you need a dedicated local pickup plugin. It also carries the customer’s chosen location through to the order and emails.

How does the customer choose which location to collect from?
At checkout, they see a real list of your pickup locations rather than a single generic “Local pickup” line, and select the one they want. That choice is saved on the order and appears in the admin order screen, the confirmation email, and their account page, so your team knows where to stage the order without calling to ask.

Can I set different opening hours and fees for each location?
Yes, and that is the point of multi-location setup. Every location has its own weekly schedule including closed days, and its own optional pickup fee or discount. So a downtown store open weekday evenings and a warehouse open weekday daytimes each offer only their real, bookable slots, and you can price or discount pickup per site.

Can customers book a specific collection time?
Yes, with scheduling enabled. Customers pick a collection date and time slot at checkout, and you control slot length, lead time, and how many orders each slot accepts, so one afternoon does not get overwhelmed. The chosen slot is saved on the order and included in the order emails alongside the location.

Can I limit a product to pickup at only one location?
Yes. You can restrict pickup availability by product or category, so an item that only exists at one site can only be collected there. This prevents a customer booking collection of something at a branch that has never stocked it, which is a common source of failed pickups in multi-location stores.

Conclusion

Multiple pickup locations only work when the customer’s choice is captured at checkout and carried through to the people packing the order. Set your locations up properly once, and pickup becomes a fulfilment channel you can plan around rather than a queue of phone calls.
