Tracking Per Item Add-on

The Tracking per item add-on extends the Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce and allows you to attach tracking numbers to specific order items and also to attach tracking numbers to different quantities of the same line item.

The add-on extends AST by allowing you to choose the quantity of line items (products) to attache to the tracking number when you add the tracking info to your orders.

General Settings

Enable the Tracking Per Item option by default – This will check the option to add tracking per item when adding tracking info to orders.

Display SKU for the Tracking Per Item – This will display SKU in tracking per item product list.

Adding Tracking Numbers Per Item

The Tracking Per Item add-on lets you attach different tracking numbers to specific line items and even to and you can also attach tracking numbers to different quantity of the same line item.

For example, if you received an order of 5 items from 2 different SKU’s:

  • T-Shirt and x 3 (qty)
  • Blue Jeans x 2 (qty)

If you ship the order in 2 different packages, each with its own tracking number, each contains different line items and quantities:

Package 1
tracking number – 123445
Products:

  • T-Shirt x 1
  • Blue Jeans x 1

Package 2:
tracking number – 123456789
Products:

  • T-Shirt x 1
  • Blue Jeans x 2

Add the tracking number to the first package

After you added the tracking number to the first package, click on the “add tracking” to add the tracking number for the 2nd package – we will only display the remaining qty available for shipping:

Tracking Numbers Per Item Display

The line items and quantities will display for each tracking number on the order admin in the Shipment tracking section and on the order’s products details:

The tracking per item details will display on the emails and my-account area on the tracking information section next to each tracking number:

CSV Import

You can Import tracking info per items using the product SKU and the quantity shipped. 

  • SKU – the line item (product) SKU.
  • Qty – the line item (product) quantity.

For example, if you received an order of 2 items

  • T-Shirt x 2
  • Blue jeans x 3

 

Package 1
tracking number – 123456
Products:

  • t-shirt x 1
  • blue-jeans x 1

Package 2:
tracking number – 456789
Products:

  • t-shirt x 1
  • blue-jeans x 2

The CSV File should be formated this way:

Tracking per item REST API

You can add tracking info per items using the product SKU and the quantity shipped using the REST API.

For example, if you received an order of 2 items

  • T-Shirt x 2
  • Blue jeans x 3

For the example, we will add the first tracking number for package contains the following line items and quantities:

  • T-Shirt x 1
  • Blue Jeans x 1

The second tracking number is for the package contains the quantity for the remaining items:

  • T-Short and x 1
  • Blue Jeans x 2

Installation

  1. Download the AST Tracking Per Item add-on by clicking on Download button on the order email or from your account area on zorem.com
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
  3. Click Upload Plugin and activate

After activating the add-on, for every eligible order, you will get the option to change the line items quantities and attach the tracking number you add to specific line items.

Note: orders of 1 item with with a quantity of 1 will not display the per item option. In case you ship the same product in a few packages, you can add multiple tracking numbers to the same order.
