PayPal Tracking Add-on

This PayPal add-on extends the Advanced Shipment Tracking plugin and will send the tracking information to the your PayPal transactions using the PayPal Tracking API when you add tracking info to orders that were paid by PayPal and fulfil the order. The Tracking info will be added to the PayPal Transaction.

you will need to create a PayPal App and to generate API client ID and secret to use the PayPal REST API to use the plugin.

Settings

The PayPal Tracking Add-on settings can be found on your WordPress admin under WooCommerce > Shipment Tracking > PayPal

  • Enable Sandbox – enable this option if you are using Paypal Sandbox for testing.
  • Client ID – your PayPal REST API Client ID
  • Client Secret – your PayPal REST API Client Secret
  • Select PayPal payment methods – you can choose which payment method is PayPal
  • Send email to the Customer from PayPal – Enable this option If you want to send email notification to customer from PayPal when tracking information added to Paypal.

Order Notes – once the tracking info is sent to PayPal, we will add order note to the order.

When order mark as Shipped(Completed) Tracking information will send to PayPal and display on PayPal and also add in order notes.

Logs

Plugin saved log when send tracking information PayPal and there is some error with response we will add Request and Response in the WooCommerce Logs.

Go to the WooCommerce > Status > Logs and find “ast-paypal” in logs and find logs by date.

Compatibility with TrackShip

When TrackShip send Shipment status On Hold or Delivered to AST we also update Shiping status on PayPal.

Send tracking information to PayPal in Bulk

On the WooCommerce orders admin, mark the orders that you want to send tracking information to PayPal and from the bulk actions menu choose the Send Tracking to PayPal option and apply.

You can also use the Send Tracking to PayPal option from the order actions menu on a single order admin.

How to Generate PayPal REST API Keys

REST API credentials include a client ID and secret. Here’s how you generate the credentials:

  1. Log in to the PayPal Developer Portal using the same credentials you use for PayPal.
  2. On the My Apps & Credentials page, click Live or Sandbox depending on whether you need an app for testing (Sandbox) or going live (Live)

  1. Click Create App under REST API apps. Any previously created REST API apps will appear in the table above the Create App button.
  2. Enter the name of your REST API app in the App Name field, and select a Sandbox business account to associate with your app.
    Note: Remember that you can’t use a Live credit card in Sandbox, and you can’t use a test credit card in your Live account.

    Your credentials, the client ID and secret, are displayed on the app details page that displays after you click Create App.
